Function: The Keyword Thief spider enters the SERP (Search Engine Results Page) and collects all the home-page keywords from all the listed websites.
Uses: Use the best keywords for your PPC (pay per click) campaigns, or for creation of efficient content and gateway pages.
The keywords obtained by KeywordThief can be imported into the GGG projects. GGG is our Great Gateway Generator, which prepares highly SE-optimized webpages. If you use our Synonymizer, which substitutes synonyms for frequent words in your text, the new keywords can be easily incorporated in your web pages with maximal optimizing effect.
Tips:
look under Google for your main subject. After you pick-up some good keywords, use them for new searches.
look for long keyword phrases rather than unique words.
select the Advanced Search option in Google for 100 results instead of 10.
File - Exit: there are no really file functions. In The only file function is to Export the collected keywords to a .txt file, and this is under the Actions option.
Navigate: you can select the standard navigation options, in order to find the best search results. Any search engine (SE) will be a good source of quality keywords. Indeed, Google is supposed not to pay attention to the keywords metatags, while other SEs like Inktomi (now bought by Yahoo) and Excite are very attentive to them. KeywordThief lets you use Excite, Google, Altavista or other SEs as a spidering home. Yahoo is the exception, because they are now showing an internal database code instead of the website URL.
Actions - Spider: KeywordThief enters every site listed in the SERPs (search engine results pages) and extracts the keywords.
Actions - Export: saves the selected keywords to a .txt file.
Options - Preferences: you can select the maximal number of pages to spider, in order to reduce your spidering to manageable results. You can also exclude certain domains that are known to have little keyword value. There is a box that limits spidering to one URL per domain. For instance, Google presents 2 URLs per domain, and those often have repeated keywords. The TimeOut for each Request can be set in a short time to speed up spidering.
Limitations: The Free Version allows 30 keywords per search - 20 uses - 10 pages per spidering. It can be Unlocked to overcome all these limitations for $9.90.
Unlock: once you paid, you will receive your Unlock Code by either a web screen or email. You need to copy the code and paste it into the Register screen of your software.
KeywordThief and the firewalls: It is possible that Norton Antivirus 2003 reports a false alarm after using Keyword Thief. This happens because the sequence of accessing the Internet (to copy keywords) and writing to disk is considered suspicious by Norton.
There is NO malicious code in our soft, no spying feature, no mail sending, no server contact. If the false alarm occurs, please instruct Norton Antivirus to temporarily disable the script blocking feature."
Legal Disclaimer: some keywords obtained by this software can be proprietary or registered tradenames. Use them with respect to the current Intelectual Property regulations. Usually a small type, short notice saying "XYZ is a registered brand of XYZ Co." will be enough.
